Recent Work: Substream Music Press

For the last couple years, huber+co has been helping Substream Music Press (Myspace, Twitter) with print design and production duties.

As huber+co began concentrating more on interactive projects, we’ve been able offload much of Substream to a team of young designers; however we’ve continued to design the covers. The newest issue is still at the printer but should be available at your neighborhood FYE or Barnes & Noble soon, I’m sure.

The most recent issue, 17, features a photo of Forever the Sickest Kids by Courtney Davis and accompanying illustrations by Josh Kemble. Issue 16 showcased Breath Carolina with another cover photo by Courtney.

The styling has slowly morphed through the issues we’ve worked on, but is usually, at least recognizable from one to the next. The early issues had dueling covers and content that flipped halfway through but “The Man” put a stop to that. Have a look at the archive.

We’ve got a stack of Issue 10s from last year featuring a retured logo; if you’re a We The Kings or Alesana superfan and want a copy, drop by and somebody will pull one down from the shelf. It originally came with a CD sampler but I think we’ve lost those, sorry.
